We offer you the Practical Seminar for Balkan Folklore – Balkanfolk 2007, the only one of its kind in Europe.

Balkanfolk seminar (workshop) is a meeting of participants from all the continents. For the 9th year, admirers of the Balkan folklore will touch the culture, traditions, customs of the Balkan countries and the beauty of Bulgaria.

The seminar this year will be held in the town – resort Bankya, 15 km away from the capital of Bulgaria – Sofia. The participants will be accommodated in “Jeravna” hotel in Bankya and will be offered some excursions, such the open-air ethnographical museum Etara near the town of Gabrovo, the Shipka monument of freedom on Shipka Peak, “Rojdestvo Hristovo” temple near the town of Shipka, the tomb of Sevt III in the valley of Thracian tsars (The Valley of Roses) and Vitosha National park.

In the program of Balkanfolk 2007 are included the next courses:

· Bulgarian folk dances

You may choose up to 5 classes for daily for 10 educational days. You also have the possibility to take part in Balkan folk without attending the lessons. You will spend unforgettable vacation‘s days in unique atmosphere of town Bankya and wonderful folk evenings with Balkanfolk’ orchestra and singers.

The lessons of folk dances are in groups for advance and for beginners. The duration of dance classes is 90 minutes. The teachers Emil Genov – Bulgarian folk dances, Marius Ursu – Romanian folk dances and Vladimir Mutavdjich – Serbian folk dances will present of you all the ethnographic regions of Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. Folk dance lessons are accompanied by live music.

The lessons of musical instruments are individual with duration 60 minutes. The lessons of Bulgarian folk singing and Bulgarian language are in group or individual with duration 60 minutes.

After arrival every one of the participants will receive the “Individual program” with courses which you have declared.
